Mahiti Trust is a grassroots-level civil society organization based at Dholera village of Ahmedabad District, Gujarat, India. In 1994, it was formally registered under the Gujarat Societies Act 1860 and the Bombay Public Charitable Trust Act 1950.
Mahiti Trust works in the most difficult area of the “Bhal region” which consists of the coastal area of Ahmedabad, Bhavnagar, Botad district of Gujarat State, India. In Gujarati language “Bhal” means “forehead” where nothing grows. Bhal is a region where salinity ingress is very high, the land is very saline, the groundwater is also saline and there are no irrigation facilities. This area also has a very strong caste system and is still dominated by the culture of feudalism.

Mahiti Trust works closely with communities in nearly 180 villages of Dholera, Dhandhuka and Dholka Blocks of Ahmedabad District, Barwala, Ranpur Blocks of Botad District and Bhavnagar and Shihor Blocks of Bhavnagar Districts.
